Shamrock is the home of the biggest and best annual St. Patrick’s Day weekend celebration in the great state of Texas. One of the many highlights is our Irish Rose Scholarship Pageant. This year, the new Irish Rose and her court will receive $3,600 in scholarships: Irish Rose - $1,750; 1st Runner Up - $750; 2nd Runner Up - $500; 3rd Runner Up - $250; People’s Choice - $250; and Miss Congeniality - $100. Additionally, the newly crowned Irish Rose will have her registration fee paid into a Miss Texas USA Teen pageant of her choice.

 

The Irish Rose Scholarship pageant will be held on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18 and is open to young ladies currently enrolled in high school. Contestants may never have been married, be pregnant or have a child. Pageant’s rules, regulations and entry forms are located on our new website at shamrockpageants.com. Please distribute this website address to those who may be interested in competing and representing your school, organization, or community. Homecoming queens, student leaders and civic queens are highly encouraged to participate.

 

Each colleen contestant will be required to obtain a sponsor which may be any school, organization, civic group, business or town club. With pride of your sponsor’s sponsorship, in return the organization’s name will be displayed on your delegate’s sash which will be worn during the weekend event. Additionally, a special recognition of the sponsorship will be made during the announcement of the sponsored contestant, both Friday and Saturday.

 

All entry forms must be submitted no later than midnight of Tuesday, February 28, 2023. A $110 registration fee is required along with a headshot photo for our local newspaper. The registration fee also includes rental of an official Colleen outfit that will be worn or Saturday during the interview process and parade. This fee also includes a commemorative Irish Rose Scholarship Pageant shirt. 

 

Also, one headshot photo from all contestants will be selected as Most Photogenic and the winning contestant will be recognized with a $110 scholarship and platter. Contestants are encouraged to enter a professional headshot for judging purposes.
